Sport Sponosrship – SPMA 3P25
- Management and delivery of the sport sponsorship marketing exchange process. Topics include branding, acquisition, pricing, assessment and evaluation principles of sponsorship.
Sport Marketing – SPMA 2P65
- Introduction to marketing concepts and strategies utilized in the sport industry. Topics include the marketing planning process, market research and segmentation, the components of the marketing mix, and promotional and pricing concepts.
Managing Human Resources in Sport Organizations – SPMA 3P21
- Theories, research and current practices emphasizing the fundamentals of managing sport employees. Topics include job design, recruitment, interview and selection, orientation, training, and evaluation.
Advanced Sport Finance – SPMA 3P27
- Advanced topics in financial management, including time value of money, debt and equity financing, capital budgeting and spending earnings.
Introduction to Sport and the Law – SPMA 2P96
- Sport-related legal issues and concepts. Topics include negligence and liability, risk management, violence, discrimination, doping, employment and labour law, and principles of procedural fairness.
Sport Event Management – SPMA 2P98
- Examination of traditional and niche events in sport at local, provincial, national and international levels. Topics include phases in the planning model, concept of facilitation, contingency planning, environmental sustainability, bid process and the politics of events.
Quantitative Analysis for Sport Management – SPMA 3P07
- Principles and practices of planning, designing, collecting, analyzing and interpreting statistical data. Examination of descriptive and correlational analyses relevant to the sport industry.
